How to Invest in Bitcoin and Ethereum for Beginners

If you're like me, you've been hearing a lot about Bitcoin and Ethereum lately. You may even have some friends who have made a fortune investing in them. But, like me, you may be a little fuzzy on what these things are, and even more unsure about how to invest in them.

In this blog post, I'm going to provide a brief explanation of Bitcoin and Ethereum, and then show you how to invest in them.

What is Bitcoin?

Bitcoin is a digital asset and a payment system invented by Satoshi Nakamoto. Transactions are verified by network nodes through cryptography and recorded in a public dispersed ledger called a blockchain. Bitcoin is unique in that there are a finite number of them: 21 million.

What is Ethereum?

Ethereum is a decentralized platform that runs smart contracts: applications that run exactly as programmed without any possibility of fraud or third party interference. Ethereum is unique in that it uses a token called "Ether" to pay for computation.

How to Invest in Bitcoin and Ethereum

The first step is to create a bitcoin or ethereum wallet. This is where you will store your bitcoin or ether. There are many different wallets to choose from, but for this example I will use Coinbase.

The next step is to buy bitcoin or ether. You can do this on Coinbase by following these steps:

1. Create a Coinbase account

2. Click on "Buy/Sell"

3. Select the type of asset you want to buy

4. Enter the amount you want to buy

5. Select your payment method

6. Click on "Buy"

The final step is to transfer your bitcoin or ether to your wallet. To do this, follow these steps:

1. Open your wallet

2. Click on "Receive"

3. Copy the address shown

4. Paste the address into the "To" field on Coinbase

5. Enter the amount you want to transfer

6. Click on "Send"

Congratulations! You have now successfully invested in Bitcoin and Ethereum!
